For the past couple of months my partner and I have been developing a Ghost provisioning and management platform. The goal of this platform is to make Ghost provisioning and management streamlined and simple for anyonewhether you manage one Ghost site or a 1000.
Note: Spectre1 is not a hosting service, we just make it easy, cheap, and efficient to provision and manage your self-hosting.
You Are Invited
We are looking for people not only to help test when the time comes but also to participate in a Discord group. We will be discussing their current features, planned features, and looking for your ideas on what else we can add to the platform. Those that consistently participate in the group and testing will have a nice discount on the service when it goes live. In order to test you will need a VPS / server with nothing else running on it.
Invite only testing is anywhere from a couple of weeks to a monh away.
There will also be a basic free plan as we believe everybody should have be able to easily self-host Ghost on the platform.
Spectre1 In a Nutshell
Spectre1 allows anybody to quickly and easily spin up Ghost sites on your own VPS. You can do this through API integration or through a simple one line command in SSH. Multi tenancy is fully supported and you can add as many sites as you like. SSL is handled when you add a site. Some of the things you will be able to do on the platform:
- Add API creds for more automation. Some of the providers which we do or will offer integration for: CloudFlare, Bunny CDN, Mailgun, OVH, Vultr, Upcloud, Linode, Backblaze.
- Schedule backups both local and remote.
- Restore from local or remote backup.
- Clone: Clone site on same server or other server on your account. This can be to a new URL/domain or over an existing site.
- Upgrades: Upgrade ghost or node.js.
- Edit config file.
- Server stats: See and monitor server stats such as CPU, Ram, disk, load
- Logs: Access to all relevant logs from dashboard, retention based on plan
- Access control: Allow team members to join and have fine grained permissions control over what they have access to
- Resource control: Limit and adjust resources used by system user (cgroups)
- Alternative newsletter mail service. This allows to use smtp of your choice for newsletters rather than having to use mailgun
- Suspend website
- Add SSH keys
Not an exhaustive list but gives you a pretty good idea what are plans are with it!

Data breaches and fraud are a massive headache and cost not only to service providers but to the customer. Every year more and more people are affected with 2023 and 2024 being terrible with a huge amount of people being affected from breaches with AT&T, Ticketmaster, National Public Data. Many more from smaller companies which we never hear about.
Going with Crypto allows us to avoid anti-fraud measures which means we do not need to ask for and store any personal or financial information. It also eliminates additional costs and manhours that would be required to deal with fraud.
It boils down to us being able to offer our services at a lower cost.
