I have a Ghost Pro site, and have been posting to it from my laptop computer but now I’d like to start using IA Writer to publish posts from my iPhone. I installed the IA Writer app and configured it with the access token and API URL as covered in the docs, and I can click Publish and select Ghost to get an IA Writer document saved into my Ghost draft posts.
To complete the publishing of a new post, I need to get into the Ghost admin interface, and this process is quite clumsy because for every post I have to re-login (enter email and password) and then Ghost always reports that this is a “new device” (even if I just logged in from this phone a few minutes prior) so I have to get the 6-digit code from my email and enter it.
On my laptop computer, I logged in to the Ghost admin interface once and I can go back any time and I’m still logged in. Is there something I can do to get the same experience on my phone, instead of needing to re-enter my email, password, and verification code every time I return to the admin interface?
The plot thickens: I invited my wife as an admin on the site, and on her iPhone she only had to do the 2FA login once, and now she remains logged in when she returns to the admin interface in Safari, without the “new device detected” clumsiness I’m experiencing every time. Why would we have different experiences on this?
Any chance you are using a VPN service or something like Apple Private Relay? Those services use different IP addresses every time.
I don’t use a VPN, and I couldn’t find an Apple Private Relay setting under iCloud, but I looked through all my WiFi settings and found something called “Limit IP Address Tracking” - the fine print says “Limit IP addresses by hiding your IP address from known trackers in Mail and Safari. When this is turned off, iCloud Private Relay will also be turned off for this network.”
Turning this off fixed the problem. I’ve now repeatedly launched the Ghost admin web interface while connected to my home WiFi, as well as with WiFi OFF and using cellular data, and I only had to log in the first time.
Thanks for your help!

Actually, Private Relay is a nice service for your privacy (I use it as well), but with a cost of some sites can’t recognize you because your IP address changes randomly. You can temporary disable it for a site on Safari’s context menu. Here more details: Manage iCloud Private Relay for specific websites, networks, or system settings - Apple Support
