Updating Ghost: root or not?

Latest version.

I’m asking this, after having read through the docs at Ghost Docs

When logging into, in my case, my Ghost droplet, it says something ghost manager for running ghost commands.

Yet, I can restart Ghost logged in as root using ghost restart.

Should I do the same when updating / upgrading Ghost? Meaning; ghost upgrade and should I run it as root when in /var/www/ghost ?

I appreciate some clarification on this @Kevin if possible. Thanks!

You should run all ghost commands as the same user that installed it (which in this case is ghost-mgr). The standard rule of thumb is when possible, do not use root.
