So, I created my own website, It can be normally accessed trough a link, everything works, but it wont show up in search results, no matter what I do. It cant be found, not the website itself nor posts in it. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Here is my website: https://movies.einmaligefilmecke.de
If you haven’t already done so, a good first step would be to register with Google Search Console and submit your sitemaps. That’ll invite the Google Bot, and get you some hints on why you’re not getting indexed, if it isn’t simply that the Google Bot hasn’t found you yet.
Hi @GhostUser1234 , the SEO (search engine optimization) is a huge topic and @Cathy_Sarisky is rigth that you should start from the initial step.
I am describing everything that I do with my blog and here is one article which explains what to do and why: SEO and more - first steps - Ghost
Overall it’s all very complex topic especially if you want to see your website in the top 3
Google is indexing your site. When I search for “site:movies.einmaligefilmecke.de” there are many results. It’s true that I can’t find “Über diese Seite,” but when I search for ‘Dies ist die Seite meines YouTube-Kanals “Die einmalige Filmecke”’ your page comes up as a result. Your YouTube channel had many search results. What other keywords should people search for to find your web pages? What other pages can’t you find?
That already helped, thank you. But does it also take a bit time until the results become more?
So yes, google is indexing my side, but it still does not work properly. Even when I am searching for a specific article and I search in google with exact the same title like in my website, it still does not show up.
Well, it works for me for some pages. Google Search Console will tell you more.
Google tries to return what it thinks is the best result for each search. That may not be your site. If Google knows knows about your content (based on the page showing as indexed in Google Search Console), then either (1) there’s actually better content somewhere else or (2) another site with similar content has lots more links to it from other sites* or (3) another site has done a better job getting the Google bot to understand the content. Make sure your important keywords are in the title and post excerpt. If you aren’t using any headings, consider adding some (again, with keywords). Don’t ‘keyword stuff’, where you’re writing nonsense, but do think about whether reading just the page title and excerpts and headers might help a human to identify that your page was going to be interesting. If not, the Googlebot doesn’t understand it either.
*Don’t buy links, as that tends to be a scam, but do take opportunities (without spamming!) to share your link occasionally with communities who might be interested.
Ahrefs offers a free service that provides some useful tips about each page on your site - it may help you identify places where you can tweak your content to improve your appearance in search.
I dont know, something must be wrong. I added the most important things to the excerots and tags, put links into it. Even if I search only for german sides (and no other german side has talked about this specific movie for example) some things dont show up at all. I dont know
Are there errors in Google search console or ahrefs?
Hi again @GhostUser1234 ,
Here is what I see in my Google Search Console (which I recommended to setup above). It clearly says that 23 pages were not indexed. Below you can see clickable rows with more details.
Could you please show what you have?
Without Google Search Console nobody can help you. Only Google can tell why pages are not indexed.
Look for “IndexNow” as well. I use Ahrefs and Bing in addition to Google and both use that program as it submits to the search engines sooner. Worth a shot!
