I wanted to check what happens when a free tier member changes their subscription from ‘free’ to a ‘paid’ tier - will the member still get redirected to the welcome page I have specified in the tier settings (in the same way that they would if they were signing up for the first time, rather than changing tiers)?
(I have some PDF resources on the member welcome page for paid subscribers, so want to be sure someone who changes tiers will be directed to these resources :) )
In my experience, there is no redirect to the tier’s landing page when a free subscriber upgrades to paid. Unless something’s changed since earlier this year when I tested it out.
I’m just now implementing the email autoresponder from Outpost.pup, which does enable a lot of email options for upgraded subscribers/members. But that may not solve your use case, except to use an email to point to the landing/resource page.
It would be a good fix, tho, for Ghost to automatically (or give you the option) send upgraded members to the tier’s welcome page. Or even a separate “thanks for upgrading!” welcome page. Adding @jonhickman!
Correct, the welcome page is used for new sign ups but not with upgrades.
I’ve moved this one to “ideas” for anyone else to leave feedback.
You could provide the thank you materials in a paywalled page that the member can find after they have upgraded.
