Hi all,

We created BulkPublish, a social media scheduler, and a lot of our users run their blogs on Ghost. We have written up the simplest way we know to share every new Ghost post to social media, with nothing to install on your site.

It uses the feed Ghost already gives every site:

  • yoursite.com/rss/ for every post
  • yoursite.com/tag/<tag>/rss/ to share only one tag, e.g. a social tag you add to the posts you want shared
  • yoursite.com/author/<author>/rss/ for one author

Add that feed in BulkPublish, pick your channels, and each new post becomes a social post with its title, excerpt, feature image and a link back. You can save each one as a draft to review, or have it go out automatically. Posts already on your site are left alone, so adding a blog with a big archive does not flood your followers.

A couple of Ghost-specific details we handled:

  • The feature image is attached, so posts reach Instagram and Pinterest, which refuse posts without a picture.
  • The caption template can use the title, excerpt, full text, author and your Ghost tags, and each network can have its own wording.

Step-by-step guide: Sharing your Ghost posts to social media | BulkPublish Help

There is a free plan (one feed, posts saved as drafts). Happy to answer questions here, and I would like to hear what Ghost publishers would want from this, for example sharing on update, or a per-tag choice of channels.

Thank you,
BulkPublish
