I’ve been using CoSchedule since forever. When we moved to Ghost, I had to change to their RSS feed as the input, since there was no plugin for Ghost. (Of course.)
That has worked fairly well, but now I’d like to have more control without having to do it all manually. Specifically, I want to only post certain stories on our social media accounts. With the RSS feed, this is (AFAIK) impossible.
So, what tool are you all using for your social media posts?
How about a custom RSS feed, if you otherwise like your solution? It wouldn’t be hard to pull specific tags, for instance, or any other rule for Ghost content that you can describe specifically enough to be implemented with handlebars. (Or in a cloud function, if more complex.)
Yes, that’s probably the best idea. I was just hoping that someone had a different tool, so I wouldn’t have to figure out the custom feed. ;-)
You could hire someone to hack one together pretty quickly if you knew what needed to be in it. They’re pretty easy. :)
I know I can add “rss” to the end of almost anything in Ghost to get an rss feed for that (like a tag). Can you do that with a private tag, though? Just tried it and didn’t work.
No, but you could define a channel - they get rss feeds.

Well, I wound up using Zapier with a filter on tag to create a social campaign in CoSchedule. I tried creating the actual messages, but each service wants things handed to it in a slightly different way (or so it seems). This will work for now, while I continue to cogitate on it.
Update: Left CoSchedule and went to Buffer. Worked with the Zapier folks to set up the Zap properly. All seems to be working well at this point. (I continue to be impressed with Zapier.)
