Hi, Ghost(Pro) is an excellent newsletter platform, but it needs basic email analytics to really compete with Substack and Revue. I’m invested in Ghost and my subscriber list is growing. Being able to see how each email preforms is vital to the success and growth of my paid newsletter. I imagine this would be of value to many Ghost users, and it will become a big selling point for new customers, especially if you want to attract some of the big newsletters and writers.
What’s on the Dashboard is a nice start, and there are some nice stats in the member profile screens, but as others have mention in other threads, it’s not sustainable to go into each member to see these stats. The data seems to be there, it just needs to be surfaced and presented in a valuable way.
I suggest starting off with these stats:
Per Email:
- Percentage and total opened
- Percentage and total clicked
- Percentage and total unsubscribed
- Total # of subscribers sent to
- Total site post views
- Number of clicks per link
- List of subscribers who opened, and how many times
Overall
- Average Open rate
- Average Click rate
- Open & click rate over time
