I’m having trouble when cutting and pasting my home page URL into other apps like Facebook and Mac messaging (iMessage). I’ve updated the home page several times with new content, but when I paste the URL it generates an old picture, one that is now a month old.
EXAMPLE:
This is the current home page:
This is the month-old home page:
As a workaround I’ve been using screen shots, instead, but they are not clickable on Facebook.
There is something going on with the cache, but I can’t find where it is and how I can clean it out. All help appreciated.
^ links to the Sharing Debugger, and tells you how to change your metadata in case it’s wrong on site.
Looks to me from your preview that you have a screenshot actually loaded into your metadata right now. Normally, you’d have your site logo or similar as the image…
Not sure what you mean? The metadata is text, not a picture, as in …
Settings > General settings > Metadata > [text field]
Am I in the wrong place?
If you mean Facebook you need to run the scraper again, they make their image once and then reuse that same one forever. Like Cathy above said it would be better to make a cool image to make the homepage (site default) image, akin to logo or name, initials, etc
