Conditional wording based on membership status?

Hi, I’m using Ghost Pro, after a brief dabble with Patreon and very much loving the better platform.

I’m a photographer and hoping to build a subscription following to help fund the content creation.

Site URL is: https://markskeet.photography

For member-specific posts, I’m using the public preview divider to offer a single image, some intro wording and an encouragement to sign up to see the rest of the post.

I wondered if there was a way of affecting this to only have the sign-up encouragement content appear to the public or non-qualifying tiers.

IE the public or non-qualifying members see the “Sign up to see the rest of the post” whereas the qualifying tiers just see the whole post without wording that isn’t relevant to them.

I get that the public preview puts a subscribe CTA in place, but my wording is in addition to that.

Alternatively, is there a way of altering the wording in the CTA, as that would also work for me. I’m offering free trials on all plans, so am mainly looking to call that out as an incentive to subscribe.

I was a software developer in a previous life, so not averse to a coding solution.

Any thoughts on how I can achieve that?

Many thanks for this, Joe. I think I can use that — quick question, is it possible to have template overrides if I’m on non-self-hosted Ghost?

If you can upload a custom theme, then you can make a lot of changes, yes!
