Brand new here. I’m trying to set up a new publication. I entered my card info and clicked to create the site. The “Creating site” whirly thng has been spinning for about half an hour now. Should it really take this long…???
EDIT: I’m giving up here. I’m currently evaluating both Ghost and Substack to try to make a decision about where to set up. (I don’t like the fact that Substack has recently taken on investors.) I’m gonna go experiment a bit with Substack now anyway, and probably try Ghost again later to see if it works.
This is a community forum. If you’re trying to set up on ghost.org, you might want to email their support email at support@ghost.org . It doesn’t normally take that long – it’s supposed to be more or less instantaneous. So it sounds like something’s going wrong. Could be your credit card, could be on their end. I don’t work for them, so no clue.
Anyway, Ghost is awesome, and you should definitely take another run at it. If you can’t get an account to provision correctly at ghost.org and you’re twitching to do something RIGHT NOW (instead of ~8 hours from now when their support is back online), you could also check out Magic Pages, which has a similar instant-ish deploy of Ghost.
Thank you. I’ll see if I can reach support tomorrow.
