Editing code - how to update the change in installed theme?

Hi Everyone, I apologise if I have a very stupid question. I am not a developer, just a graphic designer but setting up a website with Genki template we bought. I need to adjust code in a certain file using some code editor but how do I do that? :D I installed Genki to my Ghost account and it works, now I located the file on my computer where the change in the code should be done and my questions is how can I change the code using Ghost? I cannot reupload the theme to Ghost whenever I need to make a small change in the code right? Have I set up the Ghost incorrectly?

You can use a code editor like VSCode, if you want to test your changes before uploading it to the live site, you might want to install Ghost locally, and there you can test how your changes would look like.

You could also upload the theme after every change, but that is time-consuming and error-prone if you want to change more than just some texts.
