Email deliverability

Hi guys,

I was testing ghost as an email newsletter option against substack and noticed that emails from substack go to the primary tab in gmail, but emails from ghost (using mailgun) are going to the promotion tab. This would have a big impact on growth and I’m wondering if this something others have noticed and what some solutions to it are.

Thanks

On my side they go into spam tab directly…

I haven’t tested the Mailgun functionality yet, but all other emails to test accounts have gone to spam as well :frowning:

@nmathew87 Is your sent-from account a custom domain or ghost.io or is it coming from an account like @gmail.com? I’ve heard that impacts deliverability and/or the folder it gets sent into. I’m currently setting up a ghost newsletter to ideally be sent from my custom domain, so I’m hoping that would help it avoid the spam or promotions folder.
