Get post excerpt without stripping HTML?

Is there a way to grab a post’s excerpt without stripping the html?

I know the data helper {{excerpt}} is the typical way, but this strips HTML by default.

I wonder if it would be better if you used the post code injection area and repurposed it for the excerpt :thinking:. That would definitely not strip the HTML
