I’ve tried, unsuccessfully, to jump through Mailgun’s hoops to be allowed to use their service and today had the unwanted “permanently disabled account” email.
What are my best options to continue self-hosting and have transactional emails as well as a newsletter?
Actually I am not sure, but I think the best way will be configure your server to mail server. I mean install Postfix or some similar soft for email. And when it will be done, configure ghost cms config.production.json file. It should work, but I am not tested…
You have a variety of options for transactional mail. For newsletter, it’s just mailgun.
Can you elaborate on the reason, why they closed your account? usually they are quite helpful and just want to evaluate, that no scammers are using their services.
Did you try to talk to the support of mailgun directly?
