Did you try, .remove(); function in your custom js area?
The meta tag is used by search engines and whatnot, so you’re not guaranteed to have JS execute when the meta tags are read
That being said, I don’t think it’s possible to remove the tag w/o editing the core or adding a proxy which removes it. (I personally modify the header that’s sent to Ghost 1.x)
If remove function work there then he might check from there ( http://www.seo-browser.com/ ) Or there have similar type of featured in google webmaster tool too, what search engine reads for that page,
