I’m brand new to Ghost and so I’m still learning, but is there a difference between members and visitors?
I need to be able to track how many views a post has, regardless if they have subscribed. Is this possible? And if this is possible in a higher-tiered plan, please let me know.
Also, is there a way to add a “like” icon to each post?
I’m assuming you’re on Ghost Pro (domains ending in .ghost.io) –
If you have a plan that includes analytics, you’ll be able to see visit counts, yes.
There’s no ‘like’ option within Ghost. However, if you’re using ActivityPub, people can like and respond to your content there, from a compatible account (Mastodon, Bluesky, etc).

Everything Cathy said is right! Unique Visitors will be the number of unique people that visited a post, while Total views is the raw number of hits on the page. You also have the option to filter those by logged out vs. logged in members.
On likes, if you’re sending posts via newsletter you do have the option to gather audience feedback –
More like this /
Less like this – at the bottom of each email. That can be turned on in your newsletter design settings.

I had a Trial going but have now upgraded. I navigated to my blog from an incognito window and again on my phone. When I check post analytics, nothing is showing up? How often are analytics updated? Are my views being tracked?
I’m hoping people do not need to subscribe in order for their views to be logged. Can you please help?
Hey @Delia_Zuniga - Traffic analytics track anonymous traffic as well as visits for logged in members, so people don’t need to subscribe for them to count. In general, the data should be showing pretty near instantly. If you’re still having trouble and you’re using Ghost(Pro), could you please reach out to support@ghost.org? Thank you!

Can you help let me know why there is no Unique Visitors shows in my Analytics? Does this mean there is no Unique visitors visiting the post just yet?
Thanks.
