Moving to New Theme / Draft Mode?

Hi -

Sorry if this is obvious, or has been asked/answered here previously.

I’ve been contemplating upgrading my theme, but I can’t seem to figure out a way to design/develop my site using the new theme without uploading it and publishing it live.

Is there a kind of parallel environment or “draft” mode capability so I can tinker around with a new theme without having to go live before it’s ready?

I’d recommend setting up a local Ghost instance: How to install Ghost locally on Mac, PC or Linux

Export all your content from your “live” instance and import it in the local one. Then make all the changes there. When you’re happy with it, upload the theme to the live instance :slight_smile:
