New posts generate unwanted text in newsletter

I post about once a week and Ghost automatically sends a newsletter with the entire text. So they can read the post in their email and don’t have to click through to the website. I just want the system to send a clickable headline and picture.

I can’t find a way to do this through the Settings. Can anyone tell me that I’m missing?

Option 1:
Write your article, cut everything, publish with email, paste, update.

Option 2:
Create HTML and disable Visibility to Email.

You can save the snippets and only update what you need. You can also make multiple HTML blocks and do the same this way and duplicate the posts to make future editions easily editable with the same viewing credentials.

Not natively supported in the way you’re expecting. People who want to send a digest generally publish the full post online and then send a separate email-only message to subscribers.

I’ve got some discussion here: Newsletter digests

OK, it sounds like there are a couple ofd approaches, but the one that I like the most is to first publish a 'blank" post, e.g., with very little text. Post it to auto-generate the message. And then update the post to include all of the text.

Do I have that right?

Frank

That works fine, and keeps everything in one place, as long as you don’t need to schedule your posts. :)
