Self Hosting of Plausible Analytics

Hi! I’m using Ghost Self Host Version on Digital Ocean Droplet and it’s been pretty great! I love the simplicity and it’s very fast.

I’ve moved from Wordpress and i used google analytics. It’s a free analytics tool but it puts cookies and very heavy and impacts site speed. I’ve been using it on my ghost website too.

But I’ve recently heard about Plausible which is privacy focused that is very lightweight. I wanted to use that but it’s a paid service. but i read that it’s open source so i can self host it.

My question is how to self host Plausible Analytics in the same server where i host my ghost blog

Create a subdomain, e.g., plausible.yourdomain.com, setup SSL, and proxy with nginx.

I also have a question, I run a Droplet on Digital Ocean Too (1vcpu 1gb ram 25gb ssd) with the one click ghost. Does I can install it at same droplet and everything will run smooth or I need to get another droplet for only Plausible?

You can run on the same droplet, but you’ll need to setup Nginx to proxy Plausible.
