Theme translation kick-start utility

I’ve just finished adding translations on the theme I’m developing. The Ghost team have made it very straightforward to enable translations (see here for details), but there is currently** no way to ‘crowd source’ the actual translations and each theme developer has to create their own library of translated strings.

I hesitated sharing what I did because, to be honest, it is a bit hacky, but here it is in case others find it useful:

I started of by creating a simple awk script to grab translated text from previously published (open source) themes, but it soon became apparent I would need to run it multiple times so I’d need some basic automation. I should have stopped at this point and switched to a proper programming language, but I plunged on. The script is below - see the readme for details.

All the outputs go to a temp directory, so you can experiment without fear of breaking anything but please bear in mind that if you copy the locale files over your live copies you will loose any translations that were added by hand.

** this might change now that such good progress has been on translating the core product and the prospect of the standard ghost themes is getting nearer .
