Tracking Subscribers over time

There has been some broader discussion of v4 of the Dashboard in other places back in March 2021, but would like to surface a specific Feature idea here separate from the broader discussion of Dashboard design and customization.

Right now the Dashboard offers the primary time series view for Total Members, Paid Members, and Free Members as well as the metric for MRR – and puts Subscribers in the Engagement block and not shown over time.

I’d love to be able to see Newsletter Subscribers in the first block and graphed over time.

As someone whose audience primarily consumes content through inbox not through the web, it is a much better metric for current Audience than Total Members which includes unsubscribed and email disabled folks.

Curious what other metrics folks might be curious to elevate and/or easily see visualized over time. Thanks to all who contribute to this community!

That’s certainly one anomaly — and I’d accept that newsletter recipients is often more informative — and the other is the inclusion of complementary memberships within paid subscribers. I offer these periodically to those who drop money in the tip jar, some subsequently sign up, others do not. They only get a month, then drop off the list. This ‘churn’ of complementary users makes the graph wander about, although the (looks better than it is) MRR figure remains steady.
