Inconsistency in signup confirmation email

Not technically a bug, but a UX inconsistency that might lead to some users not confirming their signup.

  • User signs up on site
  • User receives email to confirm their signup (double opt-in)
  • Subject has the correct call to action (“Complete your sign up”)
  • Preheader has a slightly confusing message (“Thanks for signing up…”) that might be interpreted as signup being complete already.
