Looking for Explanation

My query was marked as abuse by someone over at https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost/issues/12802

I would like to know who flagged my comment and why it was deemed to be abusive.

Please see my responses over on the PR here: #15989 (comment)

TL;DR we have a piece of work to change how from addresses work in a holistic way, that is scheduled to be started on immediately.

@ErisDS Thanks for getting the ball rolling on fixing the various issues with how ghost deals with mail.
Please provide specifics explaining what change how from addresses work in a holistic way means.

Will we have appropriate control over setting email from addresses consistent with Mailgun and others?
Will the sent via nonsense be a thing of the past?
Will Ghost begin setting mail envelopes consistent with industry standards?

It would set some minds at ease if the plan was actually shared with folks rather than springing the result on us. We all saw how the surprise approach works vis-a-vis the admin settings UI change debacle.

Edit: As it turns out I no longer have access to https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost

Guess my query struck a nerve. Bummer

Just a side-comment, but regarding no longer having access to the repo: seems to be a Github-wide issue. I can’t access the Ghost repo anymore myself and can’t do the same with others, including my own.

Looks like quite a massive disruption: GitHub Status - Incident with Git Operations, Issues, Pull Requests and Actions

Thanks for the heads up.

So access was caught up in the incident but my request for an explanation stands. @Hannah
Thanks
