Seance, a self-hostable contact form

Hi all! Wanted to share an open source solution I came up with to add a contact form to my Ghost blog. Not really a “commercial service” but the marketplace category seemed like the closest match.

I give you: Seance.

I wanted to add a contact form and I was dismayed that all the guides I found pointed to cloud solutions. It’s nice that Ghost has integrations with these services, but I don’t see the need in signing up for yet another service.

Some features:

  • Optional reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha integration
  • Rate limiter enabled by default to prevent quick form resubmissions
  • Can be easily embedded in Ghost, using the “other” embed option
  • Has dark and light themes to match your blog

I’m open to feedback. If this is the sort of thing you’re looking for but it’s not quite there, let me know why. Thanks for taking a look!

Yes, I’ve got a live version on my Ghost blog. You can do the captcha but please refrain from clicking send as it will indeed email me.
