We are looking for help with a theme design for our website. We would like to have a main landing page/homepage that explains different facets of our membership platform, and that has buttons that direct members to their available materials. We have two tiers, so there would need to be two buttons. We’d like each button to lead to a page that provides only the materials available to that tier, so each page would need a different menu layout, if possible.
Please let me know if this is possible.
We are also looking for someone to help create and integrate a community discussion/chat function, either by helping with the Discourse integration or possibly using a tool like Replit to design a new, lighter version. Our main issue with Discourse is that we found that the comments would have to be made public to allow the integration, but many of our members really value their privacy and would prefer comments to stay behind the paywall. Let me know if we did something wrong, and if there is a way to integrate Discourse and keep the comments private for paying members.
We are open to bringing someone on as a more permanent role to help with any Ghost-related issues, site maintenance, and future integrations if we find the right candidate.

You could have someone build a custom home.hbs into your theme (which allows basically any layout you can think up, although not necessarily something that would be easy to edit within the Ghost editor). The other option would be to use the Ghost page editor to create a page within the editor that links to your two pages (also built as Ghost pages). 💻 Design your dream landing page might be good for inspiration. You can restrict access to those pages by tier (with the page settings), no custom work needed. [This is one of those things that you could spend $0 or thousands on, depending on the choices made here.]
It sounds like you want the menu to change. I’m not aware of any existing themes that support that. It’d be possible to build it, though. No one can give you extra tabs in the navigation settings, but it’s possible to add some logic to the theme’s use of those settings to change what appears on which pages.
If you want lightweight community interaction, consider using the existing comments functionality. I don’t think you’ll be happy with the results of trying to rebuild a Discourse-like integration with Replit, unless what you want is really really lightweight, and if it is, you’d probably be better served by using the existing comments app.
Some random thoughts, perhaps worth exactly what you paid for them.
Could I ask what integrations you want specifically with a forum?
I am still figuring out how I am going to move in with hosting Discourse Forums since I am trying to keep everything affordable for people without shooting myself in the foot…
But I do currently offer Flarum hosting with generous limits, if you’re intersted in that.
I am offering 60 / year currently.
Depending on your use case, I may be able to assist, but the extent cannot be promised until we know the full picture here.
If you’re wanting to replace the comments with a community, but keep things private, it might just be best to have the community behind a login and a link to participate should suffice from the blog article. You can put this link in a bookmark to make it stand out further.
I have successfully integrated Flarum and Ghost previously before, but it is a bit involved. If you’re interested. Let me know :)
