Hi, I’m using WP for one of my sites and now I want to switch to Ghost. The problem is that all the URLs in WP have Devanagari characters in it, which are not supported by Ghost.
For example:
https://mysite.net/प्राचीन-भारत-में-कला
This automatically changes to
https://mysite.net/prachiin-bharat-me-kala
which is just the pronunciation of the Devanagari part.
Alternatively, the original URL is in this form:
mysite.net/%e0%a4%aa%e0%a5%8d%e0%a4%b0%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%9a%e0%a5%80%e0%a4%a8-%e0%a4%ad%e0%a4%be%e0%a4%b0%e0%a4%a4-%e0%a4%ae%e0%a5%87%e0%a4%82-%e0%a4%95%e0%a4%b2%e0%a4%be/
If one pastes the above URL it’ll show Devanagari script…(both are same) but this is also not supported on Ghost. All the ‘%’ characters are replaced by ‘-’
and it becomes:
mysite.net/e0-a4-aa-e0-a5-8d-e0-a4-b0-e0-a4-be-e0-a4-9a-e0-a5-80-e0-a4-a8-e0-a4-ad-e0-a4-be-e0-a4-b0-e0-a4-a4-e0-a4-ae-e0-a5-87-e0-a4-82-e0-a4-95-e0-a4-b2-e0-a4-be/
It would be great to see the support for Devanagari characters in the URL.
Thank you
