Will all users be automatically updated to the new plans immediately or on account renewal?
Now that the starter plan no longer allows paid tiers, what if I have an existing starter plan and already have a paid tier set up there? Will that disappear?
I do wish the starter plan allowed for a lower cost option with fewer members as before, especially now that paid tiers and monetization are not allowed. The starter plan price went up 67% and has fewer features with the loss of monetization.
We regularly update Ghost(Pro) pricing and existing customers are always grandfathered on pricing. Any changes to pricing only ever applies to new customers.

Wow, that’s incredible! I just want to say a huge thank you for grandfathering existing users in regards to pricing. You’ll have lifelong customers by treating your user base this way.
Well, this definitely is a choice that kept me from upgrading from trial to pro. It was $9 when I signed up for the trial—and I thought that was a bit steep for a half-baked platform. Now it’s $15 and fewer features and eliminated monetization? Nope. It’s not even a full-featured editor, and having to use Markdown to “massage” basic features into place that are standard on Substack, WordPress, and other platforms isn’t a flex they think it is. When Ghost catches up to the simple basics of other semi-professional platforms, then it might be worth $15/month. Granted, I’m merely one person and Ghost won’t miss me. But when I go back to Substack and mention to 10k users that Ghost isn’t even as functional as a basic website, those attempting to bail from Substack with the Right-Wing takeover will look for other solutions. I mean, you don’t brag about nearly $9mil in revenue and then raise prices for fewer features. Ghost’s “we’re all in this together” propaganda is gross in light of such moves as this.
Why is discussing Ghost Pro forbidden/discouraged on the forum? If there is a question about Ghost Pro that someone has, it’s likely that someone else—either now or in the future—might have the same question.
Discussion is great. But the first post is a list of questions that really do need to be asked of the Ghost Pro team. The forum is not an official way to receive Ghost Pro support (although sometimes it happens). Their email is.
