Using Ghost for Real Estate & Property Listing Websites – Experiences and Tips?

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring Ghost as a platform for building content-driven websites in the real estate and property niche, and I wanted to hear from others who may have tried something similar.

Most real estate sites focus heavily on listings, but I’m curious about using Ghost for:

  • Long-form property guides and market insights

  • Location-based content (neighborhood highlights, investment tips, etc.)

  • SEO-driven articles that support a property business

  • Lightweight, fast-loading alternatives to traditional CMS setups

I recently came across a property-focused website, [link removed by moderator], while researching different approaches. This site it’s just an example that got me thinking about how Ghost could be used creatively in this space.

For those with experience:

  • Have you used Ghost for real estate or similar service-based industries?

  • How do you handle structured content like listings alongside blog-style posts?

  • Any themes, integrations, or workflows you’d recommend?

Looking forward to learning from the community. Thanks!

It depends to your expectations, but it can be possible to have a Ghost theme with real estate theme. With some smart usage of post tags (including internal tags) you can make different type of listings. There are some challenges though:

  • Ghost posts don’t have custom fields. So you will not have properties like Price: $100k. But you can use tags as boolean attributes by using tags like Sold, Farm House, Garage etc.
  • Built-in search only searches within title and excerpts of the posts, or tags and authors. Filtering posts (listings) by multiple tags will need extra work on client (using JavaScript and content api to filter by tags)

You can check Lumen from Bright Themes as an example for making a listing site with Ghost. It’s a theme for Job Listing, but the logic would be similar.

I need website theme like this one danvastproperty[.]com [mod un-linkified]

How possible can make it

I don’t think there is a reasonable way to use Ghost for a website like you mentioned, except the “real estate news” section.
